The List Platform Prototype

For the Elon iMedia Fly-in "Project for the Greater Good" I served as Project Manager and UX Design Lead in a team with five other students. Our client, Frumbjörg, is a social innovation innovation center and startup incubator based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Their focus is on encouraging and fostering innovative solutions to disability-based issues.

THE LIST PROJECT PLATFORM

The List Project is Frumbjörg's two-fold big-picture idea to create a platform where ideas about disability-related issues can be addressed and solved by the power of collective participation. The second part is to host Innovation Day events to bring professionals and laymen together alike to solve the issues addressed on The List Project Platform in an innovation challenge format. 

Working with the client, the team developer, and the team designer we made this concept tangible. While the developer made a more basic version with code, we decided a motion graphic would act as our demonstrative "prototype" to provide a detailed picture of the platform's capabilities. With wireframes from the developer, I created a storyboard to sequence a user experience of the platform. The team designer then created the mockups in Illustrator, and with those files I created the motion graphic in After Effects.

Challenges: Collaborative creating! Using Illustrator files created and managed by someone else was a valuable learning experience and communication was key.
